Sinopharm Hyundai's "universal antioxidant" lipoic acid API was approved in India and South Korea

Beijing News (Reporter Zhang Zhaohui) On December 15th, Sinopharm Hyundai announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary Sinopharm Weiqida's lipoic acid APIs have obtained the API registration certificates of India and South Korea.

Lipoic acid is a powerful new antioxidant, also known as a universal antioxidant. It can support the activity of glucose in human cells, has a strong antioxidant effect, can remove free radicals in the body, and protect the health of the heart and other internal organs. The PDB database shows that in 2020, global sales of lipoic acid preparations will be USD 540.5 million. The main domestic manufacturers of lipoic acid APIs include Suzhou Fujilai Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. and Jiangsu Tonghe Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. etc.

Sinopharm Hyundai stated that the overseas registration certificate for lipoic acid this time indicates that the API product can be sold in the Indian and South Korean markets, and will have a positive impact on the further expansion of the international market.
